Meet Dr. Bartlett

Biography

Dr. Bartlett opened his private practice in Midland, Texas in 1977. He was the first plastic surgeon in private practice in the Permian Basin and started the multi-disciplinary Oral Maxillofacial Cleft Clinic at the Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center.

Dr. Bartlett brought Liposuction from France to the Permian Basin in March, 1983. He also pioneered Endermologie and Cutaneous Laser Treatments in the Permian Basin, and has extensive experience in Maxillofacial trauma, burn trauma, hand trauma, and replantation of amputated parts. His cosmetic surgery experience goes back to 1969, where he independently performed his first Face-Lifts, Rhinoplasties, and Blepharoplasties.

Dr. Bartlett was born in Gordon, Nebraska while his parents were living on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Most of Dr. Bartlett’s primary education was obtained in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Bartlett’s first training was in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy.

The three years following his graduation from engineering school he worked as a Metallurgical Engineer and started a successful heat treating business that is still in existence.

Dr. Bartlett then went to the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri to obtain his medical degree. He did his first post graduate training in Otolaryngology and Maxillofacial surgery in Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida, and at the University of Tennessee, City of Memphis Hospital, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Following this training, Dr. Bartlett was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy for two years and Chief of the E.E.N.T. Department at Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina. He received his board certification in Otolaryngology and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1972. Upon completion of his military obligations, he did his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, then went to the prestigious Kleinert Hand Surgery fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1978, Dr. Bartlett received his board certification in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Bartlett has a private practice, primarily consisting of cosmetic surgery. He also performs a small number of E.N.T. and hand surgery procedures. Dr. Bartlett was a clinical instructor for the Plastic Surgery Division of the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine in Odssa, Texas.

Dr. Bartlett formed the W.T.P.A. (Western Texas Physicians Alliance). He graduated from the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri in 1967. In the following ten years, he completed his residencies in General Surgery at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, Florida; Otolaryngology at City of Memphis Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee; Plastic Surgery at Medical Center Hospital, Columbia, Missouri; and was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy stationed in Beaufort, South Carolina where he was Chief of the E.E.N.T. Department at the Beaufort Naval Hospital.

Dr. Bartlett has board certifications in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and is a Kleinert Hand Fellow at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Bartlett makes available to his patients his more than 30 years of experience and knowledge obtained from attending over 200 symposiums covering the cutting edge of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Bartlett was the first Plastic Surgeon in private practice in the Permian Basin and started the Oral Maxillofacial – Cleft Clinic. He has pioneered Liposuction, Endermologie, and Cutaneous Laser Treatments in the Permian Basin.
